Hi, a late comment to the failure messages about the USB stick in the system log:
> [40799.447110] sd 7:0:0:0: [sdf] Attached SCSI removable disk > [41167.136643] usb 2-1.2: reset high-speed USB device number 27 using > xhci_hcd The reset message is not caused by unplugging of the USB device. I know it from failing USB boxes with optical drives. Sometimes the USB-SATA bridge was to blame, sometimes the power supply of the box was the cause. (I cross-swapped drives and power dumplings in order to find culprit. New hardware fixed the problems.) Most times it happened while using the drive. But a bad USB-SATA bridge once caused such resets every few minutes with an idle drive. (My USB boxes last about 5 to 10 years. Drives rather 15 to 20 years.) Unplugging usually causes this kind of message: > [41480.585883] usb 2-1.2: USB disconnect, device number 28 Have a nice day :) Thomas
