FWIW, I think these should work regardless of your window manager
(e.g. I'm using Evince from an XFCE environment using the `ctwm` window
manager, and I think I remembering using Okular in a similar setup
without any trouble).
If you encounter problems because of your environment, I'd recommend you
file a bug report: a tool that works only in its "home" DE is
broken, IMO.
