For this particular package, I don't follow any of the rules.
I normally go to Debian's Packages webpage and download (with
wget) the latest I can find, typically trixie's at this time.
Today that page appears to be down, so I just headed to the
pool and fished the link from:
  http://deb.debian.org/debian/pool/main/y/yt-dlp/

I installed it with:
  # apt -s install /home/debian/trixie/yt-dlp_2025.01.26-1_all.deb 
to check the dependencies (this is on bullseye), then deleted the -s.

As it's the only "pseudo-backport" I use, it saves a lot of hassle
with the sources list etc, installing it in this way.
