It allows (assuming competent UEFI firmware in the computer) setting of DefaultBoot and NextBoot (one-off boot, then revert to default boot) and a few other things. I wish there was an easily-accessible equivalent in Windows. I had a fair bit of trouble with a netbook which does *not* have competent firmware and was running dual-boot. -- Joe
