It's not possible with chromium either. I have two separate X servers

Tim, likely you are confusing ability of the same browser instance to
have windows on multiple DISPLAYs and running multiple instances on the
same display.
I have not noticed any issues with running several instances of Firefox
or Chromium for independent profiles.
Other related, but rather different features are private
browsing/incognito and multi-account containers.
Notice that web sites may use rather sophisticated fingerprinting
techniques to recognize visitors from the same machine who use different
profiles or even browsers. So splitting cookie storage is not enough for
some cases.
