I replaced the display in my aging Thinkpad T410 last month.  It runs
Debian 12 with GNOME and Wayland very well so no need to throw it away.
Years back I upgraded it to 8 GB of RAM and an SSD.  Repair parts are
rather easily found for Lenovo laptops.

I've been using Debian on one Thinkpad model or another for over 25
years.

I also have an older Thinkpad X1 Carbon, Generation 3 that I'm running
Trixie on as well as Arch as the mood strikes.  "It just works" (TM).
