Hello Andy thanks for your answer,
I'm from Norway. I know that this is a Debian list. There is a hint that all can post because of no regulary administration on the Debian list. My qestion is also not specific for Ubuntu. Otherwise, this is a real treat to me for month. I don't get support from Ask Ubuntu. [https://askubuntu.com/questions/1536045/thunderbird-evolution-snap-a-s-o-removed-after-fail-installation-of-ssh-rec?noredirect=1#comment2702140_1536045] The same to Cloudflare, Honeypot, the ClamAV user list after attacks by malware and cool downblock. I've tried several times to get answer by the mailing list there. Nothing.Only after protests on Github the subscribing has been replied. But the silence is ongoing further. The Tor-project has suspend my account after problems with their bridges. After some short replies with delays they refused any support. All possibilies to get in touch were blocked without any comments. So its a very strange and scary situation. All tries to get orientation and answering is a risk on further spread. The technical aspect is: It was not possible to get any live system on an USB stick. Switching to the Windows installation has prevented me from the use of all kinds of img programs. The downloads has lasted 5-6h for the Ubuntu desktiop but the sha was never o.k. All prepared USBs from the Linux installation got a fail message, theydidn't boot. Accidently on yesterday I tried to boot in the Grub command-line and that worked. You dont find anything in the net. I cant try the rescue mode. The systempartion on the Window dev with the boot menu was destroyed during fail formatting instead of an USB stikk. Or Am I wrong? I have to find a solution to be able to boot from USB to start my Ubuntu. If that works I can try to restore the system partition on Windows. Ok. Merry Christmas now. Below is a direct copy of perhaps the most helpful one, but the bottom line is: you need to use an Ubuntu support forum for Ubuntu help, not a Debian one. It is not possible to download an iso file. It takes hours to get it but it doesn't boot The sha is fail permanently. Where are you - where are you downloading from - which mirror or site? Try: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/cdimage/releases/24.10/release/ Also, bear in mind that 24.10 is not the Ubuntu LTS which is 24.04 On today I've got a fail message during a test - download on youtube. It mentioned there is no dirmanager but it is on my computer. I have to repair the bootpartition on a dual boot system and the iso files provide maybe support to repair the damage. Anyone who can help? Boot into rescue mode and go from there? All the very best, as ever, Andy Cater (amaca...@debian.org)
