Alt is convenient while working with applications that frequently create
new windows. Unfortunately it shadows useful actions in various
applications. Browsers allows to select text withing a link without
opening it. Graphics editors use modifiers for mouse events as well. For
me it is a reason to keep disabled Alt gestures in window managers.
I have noticed that feh image viewer started under flexbox may protrude
to upper and lower virtual desktops while KDE's kwin clamps it to the
current one. If somebody may post a link that explains X Window protocol
that is used for window size and position negotiation, I would be
grateful. My curiosity is not strong enough to read specs.
