I scan on a clapped-out HP printer with a legal-sized platen. As I have to place the originals myself, it's convenient to scan to a USB stick rather than a computer. When I turn it on, after powercuts, I have to open and close the ink drawer a couple of times, as they contain little or no ink, to stop it moaning. All the ink stuff dried up years ago. For printing, I use a driverless B&W Brother laser printer. Cheaper, no fuss, and no bother after periods without use. Yes, leave colour printing to commercial outfits. Cheers, David.
