I think, reading a rendered page from a document is more pleasant than raw markup, so selection of pages is relevant. At least it might be a last resort since normally page selection should be available from printing dialog or using CLI options.

The next question is what kind of markdown is used. Long document almost certainly relies on various extensions.

However it does not matter if actual trouble may be with wonderful closed source Brother drivers and armbian tuned by a sledgehammer.
