Usually Zathura works to display PDFs even though for some time now I
get a warning about database. I don't have that warning to share but I
think it's current behavior should lead to solving the same problem.
Currently
zathura [filename] gives:
info: Opening plain database via sqlite backend.
info: No plain database available. Continuing with sqlite database.
and then nothing happens and it doesn't return.
I've Googled and left a message with Zathura with no answers that I can
make sense of.
