Please don't be rude. Ok I over estimate the gap in *your* mails but not in other html mails I've seen (as Greg correctly supposed). Compression reduces the size but it's proportionnal so don't negate the extra html size. The global size will always be 4-10x. The *reality* is that you need to change just one option in your MUA. And I stop here this thread.
