The disk/by-id file names are made up from hardware properties.
I believe to see in the name at least: Manufacturer, Model, Serial Number.

So you will have to find the configuration file which knows that
/dev/disk/by-id address and change it either to the new hardware id or
to a /dev/disk/by-uuid address, which refers to the cloned disk content.

Have a nice day :)

Thank you Thomas. That is what I am trying to find as I have searched for both the SSD drive model number and the WWN on the cloned HDD but can't find anything.

I am aware that the label and uuid (drive and partition) are replicated on the cloned drive, but I can't find the model number (in text format) stored anywhere on the drive.

I will keep looking.
