Please run the following commands as root and post the complete console
session -- prompts, commands entered, and output displayed:
# cat /etc/debian_version ; uname -a
# df
# dd if=/dev/sr0 of=/tmp/dvd.bin conv=noerror,fsync iflag=fullblock
