FWIW, I run `dnsmasq` as local DNS server on many of my machines, and
this is already automatically setup to "DTRT" somehow (the DNS
info obtained via DHCP are provided to `dnsmasq` and `/etc/resolv.conf`
only points to 127.0.0.1).

You might want to look at how they do it.
