What a strange loop I've landed in. I started out trying to make en_CA locale work. "dpkg-reconfigure locales" everybody said, but that didn't do it. Once I edited /etc/locale.gen and /etc/locale.alias, then ran locale-gen, it was finally fixed.
In /etc/locale.alias it says to use the glibcbug script to report it to gnu. That sends to [EMAIL PROTECTED], which bounces. So, I forwarded the bounce to [EMAIL PROTECTED], and that bounces. So, I go to www.gnu.org, click on Developer Resources, and that leads to 404 Not Found (/software/devel.html was not found on this server). Is it only a coincidence that Gnu's mailserver is named monty-python.gnu.org? So: - I've found a (?) flaw in locales configuration processing in Woody. - I've found a bug in glibcbug (glibc6 - 2.2.5-11.5). - I've determined Gnu's bug reporting system is broken. - Gnu's mailserver is misconfigured (mail bounces). - Gnu's website is broken (404 not found). What do I do now? [Note: cc:'ed to Woody's libc6 maintainer.] -- Any technology distinguishable from magic is insufficiently advanced.
