Something's wrong here, but it's not clear what. Maybe you're getting results from a stale mirror or something? For grins, what happens if you replace "deb.debian.org" with something like "ftp.us.debian.org" in your sources.list, then do apt-get update, then try again? (If you're not in/near the US, then perhaps try a different country code. And don't worry about the "ftp" in the hostname. It's a naming relic, and doesn't actually mean it uses FTP.)
