Maybe you can try one of the newer drivers on the Debian machine? Yep, thanks, I tried that and it didn't make a difference. I've never had a broken network card and I think it's strange that the connection is intermittent. If it was broken, would it have a connection at all? I guess my best chance is reseating the heatsink.
