How do you handle dependencies where there is a version of the dependency on the server, and another version on a repo in the user's sources.list? Multiple nested dependencies?
You don't: just like "apt install ./foo.deb", apt takes its existing package database, integrates knowledge of foo.deb, and nothing else. If there are adjacent packages to https://example.com/foo.deb, apt shouldn't know anything about them, IMHO. -- Please do not CC me for listmail. 👱🏻 Jonathan Dowland ✎ j...@debian.org 🔗 https://jmtd.net
