The MB is a Tyan Thunder 2 S1696D
(http://www17.tomshardware.com/motherboard/19971028/440lx-09.html) for
Pentium IIs from Fall 1997.  My CPUs are 300MHz.  I seriously doubt it
will run Athlons, especially at 1.7GHz.  But I'm willing to be
convinced.
