Are you sure that this is the version code which you should be looking for if interested in source ? According to my mail archives uname -a on a Debian 8.1 says: Linux ts6 3.16.0-4-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 3.16.7-ckt11-1 (2015-05-24) x86_64 GNU/Linux The string "3.16.0-4" is found in the web for various different "MP Debian 3.16...". But "3.16.7-ckt11-1" seems to be the actual source version. Debian 8.0 was released april 26th 2015.
