enscript problem

hi,
I have the following problem with enscript:
I do "enscript --i $MARGIN..... "
but whatever I put in MARGIN (10::: ,  10.:::) I get the error message
    enscript: malformed float dimension: 
google gave me nothing useful
what am I supposed to put?
