Ah, this is much easier in Debian IMHO. Just set up your rules, then say '/etc/init.d/iptables save active'.

That returned the following:


Saving iptables ruleset: save "active" with counters/etc/init.d/iptables: line 65: /var/lib/iptables/active: No such file or directory
