it doesn't look like it is being very actively worked on and the package didn't get enough support from a Debian Developer or Maintainer to continue so it was removed. it is in stable, if someone wanted to get it back into unstable in the future they'd have to work on it and upload it. right now with a freeze you'd have to probably put it in experimental (along with any dependencies needed that aren't already available elsewhere). songbird
