About a year ago the Gnome project moved to Discourse and shut down all of their mailing lists. I check in there from time to time as interest in GTK development strikes and I must say that I think it is a very poor imitation of a Web forum and I've not tried their email interface but I cannot imagine that it would be as useful as a real mailing list. Gnome has their Discourse set so that 14 days after the last reply a topic is locked so no more replies may be added. I find this myopic, to be honest, as there are many times when an answer relevant to a thread may come months later and can be added to "close the loop" of that particular thread. I suppose one would have to start a new thread with a link to the old one in their case which to me just leads to thread/forum pollution. Put me down as not interested in seeing this list replaced in a similar manner. - Nate -- "The optimist proclaims that we live in the best of all possible worlds. The pessimist fears this is true."
