I also responded to a separate Thread, regarding "Offline Install via CD",
but will put this question here, to combine issues from both Threads:  Why
can't we have an "Expert Path", with appropriate Menu Items (i.e. for
Non-Free Firmware, and Network access), leading to a Live DVD Environment?
