I am using grub. The Debian installer is TRYING to use LILO and failing. It is NOT writing to the disk. The first time I tried, it wiped out grub, not un-understandable given it SHOULD have written LILO. I then planned to edit LILO to get my other distro and win up. But I was left with NO boot loader, so I re-instated grub, re-ran the installer. This time, it did NOTHING at all in terms of bootloaders. It should have, it did not. Given the above, how can I get Debian to boot? cd into the
Debain / (while running Libranet) and run lilo? Modify in some
unknown to me way the above grub entry?
Grub and lilo are two different ways of booting. In general you
either run grub or run lilo. (There are ways to make the two
coexist peacefully, but that's another matter.) I'm a bit
confused why you'd mention in the same paragraph running lilo and
then modifying your grub menu. What are you running as boot
manager?
