Well, i did install viewmol, and it did create and populate /usr/share/icons/crystalsvg/ but as you predicted, it didn't change the Okular behavior. However, that shows that /usr/share/icons/crystalsvg is not sufficient, so that's some info. Thanks for your help. dan
