Thanks Bill and Marc - you are rigth : Andreas pointed to rcS.d, but I was fixed on looking into rc2.d ! Now that it's clear that rcS.d does it, I dont understand the difference between level "1" and level "S" ! I see rc1.d is almost empty (?), but rcS.d not. Can someone tell me the boot level sequence where "S" fits ? Before "1" ?? Or a pointer to a doc ... The "Debian Policy Manual" doesn't talk about ... Thanks. Sebastian.
