You NEED to figure out why this is happening. Is the entire /etc directory gone, or something? Show some basic initiative. Look around. Show us what abnormal things are going on with your system. ls -ld / /etc /etc/ld.* strace /sbin/ldconfig Do something, do ANYTHING useful!
