Dear Mr. Bernstein, 

In /etc/fstab, you might try changing the line

/dev/sr0        /media/cdrom0   udf,iso9660 user,noauto 0       0

to

/dev/sr0        /media/cdrom0   udf,iso9660 user=XXXXX,noauto 0       0

where XXXXX is the output of the command whoami.
