Just updated this debian 9 and tried gimp > file > create > XSane > Device dialogue. There chose the HP scanner.
A window entitled "xsane 0.999 C2500A:sg0" opened. There I selected Window > Show preview. (Previously, for years, the preview window opened automatically.) The result is at http://easthope.ca/SanePreview.png Ie. previewing and scanning appears to be impossible. Ideas? Thanks, ...
