More seriously, the "corner" cases are the valuable ones.
Consider a timing race. Is that not a "corner case". And one that
requires predictable outcomes.
I spent decades in QA/QC/Engineering Support/Customer Support/... .
Just about everything I dealt with was a "corner case".
