You're describing an ASR (Automatic Send Receive) teleprinter. KSR
means Keyboard Send Receive: no tape.
You may be correct. It has been the the better part of a half-century. I
recall two almost identical 20mA devices adjacent to PDP11's,
with/without paper tape readers on the side.
The Model 19 was more fun.
