Ah ok, I think I got it now (at least partially :)
Seems like you installed debian's grub into a partition, not
into the disk's MBR (or however the UEFI equivalent is called). Thus the
android bootloader seems still to be alive.
I believe that if you make sure that the 32bit uefi variant of grub is
installed, not the 64bit version, it should be safe to do something like
# grub-install /dev/sda
(or however the disk on your device is called, on my laptop
it's /dev/mmcblk1).
Of course there is no warranty here... :)
