Besides, some of them stop working when youtube changes something: chances are good that another keeps working. Don't forget that youtube (aka Google) *desperately wants* to keep you immersed in the browser to enjoy the whole "experience". So it'll try to disrupt the few red pills out there from time to time to make the blue pill (browser, preferably theirs) more palatable and keep you being part of the Matrix.
