Just by way of background, could someone briefly explain why there is a python python2.1 python2.2 python2.3 and which one(s) of these I should stick with? Seems that if I apt-get remove any one of them, I end up removing a lot of other dependent programs as well. But it also seems that python and python2.3 don't want to live together. I downloaded the -7 .deb per the last entry in the bug report and tried dpkg --simulate -i, but still got the error/conflict messages that have already been posted here. Would appreciate any further pointers. Thanks Kevin -- Kevin Coyner mailto: [EMAIL PROTECTED] GnuPG key: 1024D/8CE11941 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
