That is definitely not true here in Germany ;-)
Every teenage garage band will most certainly make heavy use of
"wanna" (not to tell about other, far worse "slang" expressions they
caught up somewhere). Adult garage musicians around here are most likely
no different, btw ;-)) Non-musicians very probably use it, too.
