Well, I've never used DBaseII, but if you want a small relational database, take a look at SQLite. There are bindings into most languages and there's a command line client. The storage is simple (from an end-user perspective): each database is just a different file. There's also a GUI called 'sqlitebrowser' which is in Debian, but I've never used that. There are also other GUIs out there not part of Debian, which you can install manually. > I looked at at LibreOffice Base.
