To add one which, while not strictly Debian still merits mention, see Fairphone, which started from the "ethic sourcing of materials" POV, but is listening to software freedom concerns. They offer an official path to rooting, and -- who knows? -- might be talked into supporting efforts to port whateve non-Android to their hardware. I find them interesting because their approach is somewhat complementary to OpenMoko's. To all folks out there saying "OpenMoko failed": yes, and no. OpenMoko's people are "out there". The experience has made us richer. Some other approach might succeed (and will only because it carries some of OM's genes). It's all but one giant genetic annealing simulation :) Regards [1] https://code.fairphone.com/projects/fp-osos/index.html - -- t -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.12 (GNU/Linux) iEYEARECAAYFAliTNhQACgkQBcgs9XrR2kZF7gCfZQaIeDchZRghiu9hFZ+sPTRO df4AnRhahyDi11NYmdd7A5aG9VK/mDjM =i/fT -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
