After installing EVERYTHING (lol) that has some resemblance to "asm/socket.h" (including the ones you suggested Thomas) and pulling out the last bit of hair left on my head I finally discovered I forgot about libc6-devel ... That seemed to have nailed down that elusive litter bugger of a file ... Have a nice day Danny
