You should give other distributions based on Debian a try there are many Libranet, Xandros, Lindows, etc... libranet has the previous version as a free download, Xandros, $39 dollars for the standard version which installs with about 4-6 screens and will have a free 30 day trial of their os for download on December, Lindows it is not free, but you can get it for free trial, search their website.
These distros make it easier to install and configure Debian, the one I use the most is Xandros.
