For accessibility users, firefox if nothing else is pretty much essential or google chrome with chromevox for access to much of the web especially for commerce transactions.

You don't need an X server unless you have a display that you want to
put graphics on.  X clients require only the X libraries (though some
may erroneously depend on an X server).
