Yes. It may require be a whole chain of "discard" options:
/etc/fstab:
UUID=... mountpoint ext4 discard 0 0
If we have LVM on top of LUKS:
/etc/lvm/lvm.conf:
issue_discards = 1
And finally:
/etc/crypttab:
name UUID=... none luks,discard
I think "sudo update-initramfs" and reboot is needed before it works.
