According to lshw, the firmware is 16.242414.0, which is provided by /lib/firmware/iwlwifi-3160-16.ucode from the firmware-iwlwifi package. > If there is no interface there is nothing for the Jessie udev to put > in 70-persistent-net.rules. According to the dpkg logs, udev was upgraded to 220-7 before I installed firmware-iwlwifi. But according to the udev changelog, the switch to net.ifnames is just for new installations and for new hardware. Here the hardware was already there; there was just no firmware. -- Vincent Lefèvre <vinc...@vinc17.net> - Web: <https://www.vinc17.net/> 100% accessible validated (X)HTML - Blog: <https://www.vinc17.net/blog/> Work: CR INRIA - computer arithmetic / AriC project (LIP, ENS-Lyon)
