According to /var/log/apt/history.log.9.gz, I've been on initramfs-tools 0.120 since April 2015, so I don't think this is the problem. I tried sudo apt-get install initramfs-tools=0.116, and got error message "E: Version '0.116' for 'initramfs-tools' was not found." Thanks, Ben
