Hi, * Jimmy Johansson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> [031113 08:16]: > Hi, > > I tried to do dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86 yesterday expecting it to > create a new XF86Config-4 file, but it didn't. I moved the old > XF86Config-4 to my /home/<username> directory and ran dpkg-reconfigure > xserver-xfree86. Am I supposed to do something else?
I remember seeing this behaviour once with xfree86 4.2 in sid. I think it bails out from updating the XF86Config-4 if it has been modified by hand. I ended up removing and reinstalling it to make the new settings stick. apt-get remove --purge xserver-xfree86 apt-get install xserver-xfree86 Be warned, none of your previous settings will be remembered.
