If you don't have any software RAID arrays, that's perfectly normal and you may uninstall mdadm (unless reverse dependencies exist). However if you think you have software RAID arrays, what's the output of the following command ? mdadm --detail --scan --verbose -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-user-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
