I tried enabling/disabling compositor in xfce and no effect. I also tried removing background image and setting desktop background to solid. Well- back to openbox for now. Can't remember why I started using xfce. Is there any point in filing a bug ? Seems that there should be a lot of people experiencing this problem, and yet, it seems unlikely that it's hardware related. After all it should be showing up in openbox too if it was.
