I use the opportunity to confirm that the downgrade of upower + policykit1
fixed the problem for me (as mentioned in the previous post) and also to
answer your two questions
1) the brain f**ked id**ts who invented this can not force us all to use it.
If it is good for notebook or desktop should be not the only option. For me
the problems are
1. very new and complicated to adopt
2. had few custom scripts in init.d and
3. fixed apache2 startup script that did not behave like I wanted
Conclusion:
A big relief without this "feature" as I've been living last 10 years
without it. The guys should take the chance and make it even better ;-)
If I spend that much time with each piece of software I will get old before
I have a working computer
